Our programs are based on four fundamental pillars:
Food Aid
68% of children in Venezuela suffer from malnutrition, 45% of those who have arrived in Colombia suffer from stunted growth and chronic malnutrition, they lack a balanced diet, water, medical treatment and basic hygiene.
Our food aid programs provide a balanced diet, dietary supplements, education in hygiene and food security to more than 2,750 children and their mothers in Venezuela and Colombia.
Medical Assistance
During the last year, Venezuela has seen more than 6,400 cases of measles, leading to 76 deaths. More than 2,500 cases of diphtheria have also been also been documented, causing 270 deaths. 400,000 cases of malaria have caused hundreds of deaths. Since 2014, one third of the Venezuelan doctors have left the country, meanwhile hundreds of patients suffering from chronic diseases visit clinics in Colombia every day.
In order to mitigate this health crises, our medical assistance programs offer primary care, prevention of endemic -, gastrointestinal-, and respiratory diseases and special care for pregnant women. 6,150 people in Colombia and Venezuela benefit directly from our programs.
Access to Drinking Water
73% of families in Venezuela do not have access to drinking water. This situation has worsened the malnutrition among infants, due to the increase in gastrointestinal diseases caused by the consumption of contaminated water.
Aid Live’s programs allow more than 2,500 children and their families to have access to drinking water.
Education and Integration
All of our programs include an educational element, in order to train the local community to better support the integration of the migrant population, and thus help them with access to jobs and promote the consumption of local products. The implementation process creates an ecosystem of local development.
